Although we are in a temporary break in 2009 and thus will not be awarding scholarships this year, we encourage you to look through last years application in order to see what we ask for.

Unlocking Doors Scholarship is a need-based scholarship open to all high school senior women living in the nine counties of the San Francisco Bay Area.  Scholarship amount for the year 2008 was $1,000 per student.

Application:

• Unlocking Doors application form

• Two Page Essay

• Letter of Recommendation

• A copy of your academic transcript

• Attachment of your FAFSA

• SAT, SAT II, or ACT scores

Note: No minimum GPA or SAT/ACT score requirement

• Must be a female high school senior
• Must live in one of the nine counties of the San Francisco Bay Area (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma)
• Parent’s/guardian’s combined gross annual income must not exceed $45,000 USD
• Must be the first generation in their family to attend a four-year university
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or legal resident
• Open to all races, heritages, ethnicities
• No major/emphasis of study requirement
